Figure decorations

My ceramic figures are based on an exploration of the complexities of communication. They reflect my enduring fascination with the human face. Speech does not always convey fully what we might need or wish to say. Deeper understanding between individuals can sometimes be better achieved in other ways. For example, we might communicate more effectively by the use of certain signs, symbols or masks with which we choose to adorn our bodies. A mask may release different energies, emotions and behaviours in the wearer.
